Superior quality, competitive pricing, best-in-class lead times, and exceptional customer service. We are passionate about what we do!

Q: Are you ISO certified?

Yes! We are AS9100 certified and our registrar is SAI Global. Feel free to email us to receive our most current certification.

Q: What is the largest part you can make? What is the smallest part you can make?

Our equipment can machine parts as large as 21’’ in outside diameters (ODs) and as small as 0.040’’. These dimensions are dependent on the material and design selected.

Q: What information do you need to quote my part?

In order to provide an accurate quote, we require the following information:

  • A drawing or sketch in either PDF or CAD format
  • Any applicable customer specifications, such as 100% Inspection or required outside/external certificates
  • Any secondary operations such as heat treating, plating, or finishing specifications
  • Quantity breakdowns
  • Any other useful requirements such as required lead times, special packaging requirements, or material certifications

Q: Do you offer First Article Inspection (FAI) reporting?

Yes, FAI reports are part of our standard offering. Please let us know any special quality reporting needs with your inquiry to ensure that it is incorporated in the quote. Additional charges may apply for non-standard request.

Q: Can I visit your shop floor?

Absolutely! We enjoy giving our customers a tour of our facility. We believe it’s the best way to see our capabilities first-hand. To schedule, please call us at (281) 874-9747 or email at jonathan@ferpa-pmi.com. We are located at 1402 Hugh Rd, Houston TX 77067.

Q: What type of parts does FERPA make?

We specialize in manufacturing plastic parts made from tube or bar stock using our CNC turning and milling equipment. To name a few items, we’ve manufactured connectors, insulators, vee-rings, valve seats, back-up rings, bearings, u-cups, and fracking balls. On any product we make, we maintain the highest standards of quality and precision.

Q: What is the smallest quantity you make? The largest?

We make parts in quantities ranging from one piece to several thousand. We will work with you on prototypes to full production orders!

Q: Does FERPA mold their own raw material?

No. We work with various suppliers across the country to source high-quality extruded, injection-molded, or compression-molded thermoplastic bar stock and tubes. Once we receive the material at our shop, we begin our “in-house” manufacturing process to produce your product. Every purchase order will receive a standard material certification, which includes material name, resin name, lot number, production date, and material description. This service offers our customers a one-stop shop convenience, which can help save them time and money.

Q: Can I drop off raw materials at FERPA?

Yes! We offer a one-stop shop approach for your convenience. However, we also serve as a contract manufacturer for many of our customers. We ask that any materials that are dropped off are carefully labeled.

Q: What type of inspection equipment do you have?

In addition to standard equipment like optical comparators, plug gages, ring gages, and thread gages, we have visual inspection systems, coordinate measuring machines, and multi-sensor metrology systems. These inspection machines allow our Quality Assurance Team to perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and complete inspections more efficiently. In 2018, only 0.03% of our machined products were rejected. We value our customer reputation and take pride in the work we produce for them. We never sacrifice quality, and that is why we’ve invested so much in the latest and great technology available.

Q: How quickly can I expect to receive your quote for my part?

We aim to provide one (1) business day turnarounds on quotes. To ensure quick turnarounds, please list any special requirements at the time of the inquiry.

Q: What is your standard lead-time for prototype parts? For production parts?

Depending on the complexity and quantity, our lead-times may vary. Every order that goes through our shop differs in design, material, and quantities. Our data shows that standard lead-times are 10-15 days after receipt of raw materials. In 2018, 99.8% of our orders were delivered on-time to our customers. You can be assured that you will receive our machined product as stated on the purchase order.
